Biography
Born Stanley Grauman Weinbaum in Louisville, Kentucky, schooled in Milwaukee and attended university at Wisconsin but didn'r graduate as he was dicovered to have taken an exam for a friend.
He is best known for his short story (his first) A Martian Odyssey, which is the oldest short story in the Science Fiction Hall Of Fame and described by Isaac Asimov as "...one of only three stories that changed the way all subsequent stories in the science fiction genre were written". Sadly within 18 months of the publication of Odyssey, Weinbaum died of lung cancer.
