Description

The grand history, the base of his Future History series. the Empire is in decline, but it is not politically advisable to admit it. Anyone who does so are arrested.

Hari Seldon is such a person. He claimes he can prove it using Psychohistory. To placate him and the general population, Seldon is sent far away from Trantor to the planet Terminus where he will produce his great Galactic Encyclopaedia which it is said will reduce a period of barbarism to a mere 1000 years.

The development of civilization during the interregnum together with the real reason for Seldon's exile and the stories behind his life are the themes explored in this series.
