TheWarlockInSpiteOfHimself by Christopher Stasheff

Story 1 in the Warlock Of Gramarye series

Cover Notes

The first in the main sequence involving Rodney D'Armand, a secret interplanetary agent, and through no fault of his own the greatest Warlock in Gramarye.

Landing there in his spaceship with his robot / companion Fess, Rod befriends and later marries Gwen, the most powerful witch in the land, together with the new Queen, daughter of the late King and who is also a witch, and her consort. Also appearing as major characters are the King of the Fairies and Robin, the oldest of all old things. Yes it's Science Fiction (mainly) and it's all very logical and well thought out and a good story.

One of the first to bridge the genre gap between fantasy and science fiction.
