Story 8 in the Warlock Of Gramarye series |
Cover Notes
Two stories in one book. On the one hand, the Gallowglass family are travelling as part of a vacation to their new home, Castle Foxcourt and on the other hand, during the journey Fess the faithful companion relates to the children something of his past and hence their heritage.
The whole book is bracketed by the tale of Fess' creation, initial programming and how he came to have the Declaration of Independance included because of a family squabble.
Fess' tales include Reggie Vapochek, his first owner who bought Fess as the protective robotic element of his aircar; his second owner Whitey the Wino aka Tod Tambourin the balladeer and his grand-daughter Lona to whom he Fess as a wedding present [It was at this point noted that he had served the family ever since!]; Dar Mandra who married Lona and went to live on the asteroid Maxima, and his determination to learn about robots and leading up to a young Rod D'Armand and his first experiences away from home.
The castle had been noted as being haunted and the remainder of the Gramarye part of the story deals with what Rod, Gwen and the children - aided by the Puck - found there and how they dealt with it.
